Brendan's Building a Dynasty

Brendan’s Celtic side are record breakers, hero’s, and so far invincible but it’s the future of this team that should excite Celtic fans the most. This Celtic side could become a dynasty and perhaps see more success in Scotland and Europe for many years to come. Celtic currently have exceptional management and depth in their squad along with a relatively young team, all this is the perfect recipe for a bright future.

Celtic’s current team have depth in every position with a quality replacement for every player including and abundance of centre half’s and central midfielders that can dominate in the Scottish league. This is pivotal to Celtic’s success and consistency this season and will be key to Celtic’s hopes in Europe for the future. Brendan has had many options this season allowing all Celtic’s key players to be properly rested while the replacements come in and do the job comfortably on a weekly basis. This side is the deepest Celtic side I have seen in my lifetime of being a Celtic fan, virtually seeing and new starting XI every week a part from the core pieces such as Sinclair, Dembele, Brown and Gordon. However, in saying this Brendan has rested these players on multiple occasions, a part from Gordon, with players with the quality of Leigh Griffiths coming in to do the job.

This season Celtic have mixed a number of Centre Half pairs with the likes of Sviatchenko, Simunovic, Boyata, Toure and Lustig all occupying the position at times. The depth in this side could be a major factor for Celtic’s future creating more competition for spots which makes the players work harder for their positions. This also allows the players to be rested and gives Brendan many options on a weekly basis.

Along with Celtic’s phenomenal depth is a fairly young team. Out of Celtics 22 regular first team players only seven players are over the age of 25 and out of those seven only three have hit the 30 mark. Apart from losing Patrick Roberts and potentially Moussa Dembele in the summer, Celtic’s team will look very similar next season. This leaves a strong core of players and the summer window to add improvements which could help Celtic see an improvement in Europe. Whether or not Celtic’s current side are good enough to make it past the group stage of the Champions League they definitely have the quality to make a decent run in the Europa League. Celtic’s young team proves for a bright future which could see Celtic continue to dominate Scottish Football for years to come.
